Magazine practical research task

Here are three different fashion magazine examples:

Chosen magazine:

I have chosen 'Paper' magazine because it is different from other magazines. It has a distinctive font and doesn't have cover lines. 'Paper' magazines central image is the main focus and draws the attention of viewers and readers.

Examples of 'Paper' magazine:

Find three different front covers for your chosen magazine and embed them in your blogpost. Analyse the fonts, colours and typical design. What is the language or writing style? How are the cover lines presented? You need to become an expert in the design and construction of this magazine and its branding.

The font used for most magazines is quite 'blocky' and people would be able to recognise that this is Paper magazine. Each magazine has a colour scheme, either the background colour will match the title or an aspect/feature of the image. There are no cover lines which means the sole focus is on the central image that is usually a media close up or close up. The people used always look directly into the camera which shows that eye contact is being made and attracts the attention of viewers. Paper don't usually have a bar code on the front, it would either be inside or on the back of the issue. Underneath the title, on the left hand side is where the location is written so for example 'New York.' On the right hand side, the season and the year as well as price is written. In the foreground there will always be two pieces of text, the first would be the celebrities name and the second one would be a phrase of some sort that links to the star. For example, the issue with Rihanna on it has 'break the rules' written which reflects part of Rihanna when it comes to fashion.
